“Golfo” by Spyridon Peresiadis

Date: Saturday, 24 May 2025

Hour: 20:00

Venue: Aigialeia Municipality Multicenter Conference Hall

IDYPHON Publications, based in Aigio, has released a new edition of the theatrical play Golfo by Spyridon Peresiadis, with philological editing by Irini Pampouki and artwork by Eleanna Martinou.

Panagiotis Koubouras, philologist and poet, will speak about this beloved play, which continues to enchant theatre lovers of all ages throughout Greece.

Maria Panagiotakopoulou, author and head of Idyphon Publications, will present the new edition of Golfo.
This edition preserves the freshness of Peresiadis’ deeply poetic language—words he dictated to relatives and friends in 1893 while blind. First performed in Akrata by local amateur actors, Golfo continues to express enduring values and truths of a Greece that still stirs the soul of every Panhellene.

Ioanna Stefanatou, theatrologist and actress, will perform a representative monologue by Golfo. A monologue by Tassos will also be performed by actor Fanis Diplas.

The Women’s Traditional Choir of the Aigio Music Workshop will present songs inspired by Golfo, arranged and accompanied by researcher-composer Sakis Papadimitriou.

The event will be coordinated by Athina Skandami, educator.
