The 2nd Golfo Festival 2025, in collaboration with the Theatre Laboratory of Drama and Speech (Department of Theatre Studies, University of Patras), the Cultural Centre “Hellenikon Idyllion”, and the Kalavryta Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra, present a musical performance featuring Isabelle Métrope (mezzo-soprano), Markos Kotsias (pianist), and a Narrator.

The narrator recounts the imaginary adventures of three fictional women who, travelling across the European continent by Orient Express, pass through borders, countries, cities, and towns, meeting people and discovering languages, words, and cultures. The narration is enriched by well-known arias and songs, serving as lyrical interludes—moments to breathe through music.

As the three women journey through time aboard this metaphorical train, they stir up memories and emotions. In this voyage of discovery and self-awareness, the true meaning of life, as always, reveals itself at the journey’s end.

The performance features beloved works such as the Song to the Moon from Antonín Dvořák’s opera Rusalka, Moonlit Night (Mondnacht) by Robert Schumann, Dry Branch (Száraz ágtól) by Zoltán Kodály, Twilight (Zwielicht) by Franz Schubert, the traditional Asia Minor folk song From a Foreign Land (Apo xeno topo), and many others in seven different languages.
