The 3rd Golfo Festival 2026 is organising a tribute to Iro Chanta, an iconic figure of musical theatre whose name and artistic career became inextricably linked with the legendary Golfo, a role she performed during particularly difficult times.

What happens before an actress steps onto the stage? A photograph in the courtyard of EPIKENTRO⁺ opens itself to multiple readings, as many as there are viewers’ gazes.

As part of this year’s Open Call for the project GOLFO IN PROGRESS III, themed “Golfo as Music Theatre: Reception — Assimilation — Revival — Contemporary Approaches” Helen - Michaela Sfetsiori’s work, titled GOLFO (a concept album), was selected for performance following the Jury’s positive recommendation.

The Theatre Laboratory of Drama and Speach of the Department of Theatre Studies at the University of Patras, and the Department of Tourism Management at the University of Patras, in collaboration with the Drama School of the National Theatre and the Golfo Festival, are organizing— with the financial support of the Ioannis & Efterpi Topali Cultural Foundation— the event “Research in Theatrical Practice: From Writing to the Stage,” to be held in Patras on January 10, 2026.
